Today's stop on the farewell tour: former co-worker and friend Mary and her lovely daughter. We went to a baseball game for mine and Valarie's birthdays. Great for me- I always like to see the redsox loose. :)

Big day! Accepted a job offer at Intermountain Medical Center and put myself in a whirlwind of emotions. Not only that, but I start on July 22, so everything is going to have to be done fast! Good thing I got to cuddle this little guy so much today. It was a big day for him too- he got to go home! He's still just perfect!

Little dude has still decided to not make an appearance on his own, so Heid and Scott have spent the day being induced at the hospital. And he's still taking his time. But Heid is looking good, no? Although I must admit, I'd rather spend the day at home watching Boston play and wash motorcycles, and taking a nap than waiting all painful day in the hospital --such are the luxuries of auntie-hood :)

Hardest thing about today? Choosing one photo out of all the ones taken. Spent the day lounging on the beach and floating in the water. Went through a bottle of sunscreen and one book. And there are no words for the sunset in paradise.

It's been the best weekend and such a great day! We went to Pike Place, the glass museum, the fountain at Seattle Center, Yellow Leaf Cupcakes, Gasworks Park (where the photo was taken -another thing I had yet to do in Seattle!), to see the Freemont Troll, Meredith Greys house, the house where Kurt Cobain committed suicide, real estate shopping in Medrona, and finally back home. We made dinner and pina coladas to watch the Tony Awards with, and laughed so hard I couldn't breathe. Good day!

The end of another long day of tourist-ing at home. We started off at the Yankee game. Watched Andy Pettitte dominate and Marino Rivera close it out. Then went on the Great Wheel and a 2 1/2 hour harbor cruise ending in this photo. Now consuming some much needed carbs at The Rock.

Jill is back!!!! It is SO great tohang out with her again, celebrate random non-holidays, take thousands of pictures an hour, not have to worry about loosing her while navigating a crowd, and just be able to COMPLETELY relax and be 100% myself. We started the day at Top Pot, my fave donut and coffee shop to celebrate national donut day. Then we went to see the new Nirvana and horror exhibits at EMP, went to dinner at the crab pot, and then went to see the Yankees and Mariners play. Oh, and also, I got an interview with a new hospital/trauma center... stay tuned... :) Such a good day! This photo is from the scream booth at the EMP.

I'd love to have some kind of patriotic photo for D-Day, and I'd love to tell you that I got to stay home and watch band of brothers all day... but it's just not so. I'm sitting at work bored out of my mind, wishing I could go home and see Jill who came to visit me while I have been at work tonight. I am learning all sorts of info on drugs that not even I had heard of... these people have a blog chronicaling their trips on everything. The logic is astounding. Ie, "we were unsure about the possible effects, so we snorted it instead."

Two breaths into the sunshine and you're off the crazy ledge; stumbling, backing away gasping. By the time you get to your bench by the water you're home. The sun glistens, the water laps, the geese squak, airplanes make lazy circles and it feels like peace. It smells like summer. And it sounds like blissful quiet, outside quiet.
The sun begins to set, a smokey haze climbs to the sky from somewhere across the lake, and your mind is quiet.
Two hours later, you can go back home. Inside. Eat some dinner, take a long hot shower, deep-condition mask your hair, manicure your fingers, pedicure your toes, and drift off to sleep. A Drop In The Ocean crooning in the background of your mind. Peacefully.

Beth's cafe. Of the food network fame. And our spot for brunch on Serena's last day. Oh. My. Gosh. The portions are enough to feed a family of five with a single plate. And the blueberry muffins were divine. After brunch we headed to the Chihuly Glass and Garden exhibit at Seattle Center. It was as amazing as anticipated. And such a beautiful day for it!

Happy birthday to this beautiful lady! Serena and I met when we were travelers together at Valley when I first came to Seattle. Then we both went other places and ended up coming back for a second round at the same time. It's been four long years since she moved home to Asheville, NC. And two years since I saw her at Mardi Gras when we went to visit another former Seattle-ite, Mercy. I'm So glad she was able to come spend her 30th birthday with me!
